If you want to see the ocean looking bluer than blue but don’t necessarily fancy travelling outside of Europe, then this “little-known” Greek island could be the perfect place for you to visit this year or next. You may not be able to stay on this island for the whole trip, but you can visit it and admire its beauty.

The Greece List shared that this island has some of the “bluest water in Greece,” so if you’re a big fan of swimming and even snorkelling, it could be perfect for you.

However, they warn that “getting there and doing it right makes all the difference,” so they wanted to share their handy tips and tricks with people so they can enjoy the island as much as possible.

The island is called Antipaxos, and it’s a “tiny island just south of Paxos,” which is “off the coast of Corfu in the Ionian sea”.

But if you can’t stay there, how are you supposed to get there and back? Well, they have answered that too.

This island has some of the bluest water in Greece But getting there and doing it right makes all the difference Where is Antipaxos? Its a tiny island just south of Paxos, which itself lies off the coast of Corfu in the Ionian Sea. You dont stay here. You visit it. How to get there Join a boat tour from Corfu or Paxos (most popular) Or take the ferry to Paxos first and then a small taxi boat in Gaios town Best option if you can: rent a private or self-drive boat from Paxos for full flexibility ️ What to see (main beaches) Voutoumi Beach. The famous one with almost neon turquoise water Vrika and Mesovrika Beach. Sandy, shallow, easier for relaxing and swimming The water here is insanely clear, but: It gets busy mid-day with tour boats, but also on the beach bars – so if possible try to reserve sunbeds Best time = early morning or later afternoon Good to know There are beach clubs and taverns, but in summer they fill up. Staying over on the island isnt really a thing, theres a handful of accommodations but the island otherwise lacks facilities and infrastructure Most tour boats stop for a short time only With your own boat, or via taxi boat, you can stay longer and explore hidden coves of Paxos as well Save this for your Corfu / Paxos trip #antipaxos #paxos #corfu #greecetravel #greekislands

They explained that you can join a boat tour from either Paxos or Corfu, which is the most popular route to get to the stunning island. When you’re booking a boat tour, though, if you want to swim, make sure that the tour includes a swimming and exploring stop.

Another option is to take the ferry to Paxos first, and then you can rent a small taxi boat in Gaios town.

Or, if you can afford to, the “best option” is to rent a private boat or a self-drive boat from Paxos, because it will give you “full flexibility” and you’ll be able to spend your day exactly how you want to.

When you’re there, the best things to see are the main beaches, which are Voutoumi Beach, and Vrika and Mesovrika Beach. Voutoumi is the “famous one” with “almost neon turquoise water”. The other Beach is “sandy, shallow, and easier for relaxing and swimming,” so it depends on what you want to see more of and have the flexibility to do with your day.

They note that the “water is insanely clear,” however, they do warn that it gets extremely busy mid-day with tour boats, and it would be a good idea to reserve sunbeds if you’re looking for somewhere to base yourself for the day.

The best time to visit is either early morning or late afternoon, when the massive tour boats have departed.

There are other things that you should know, too, like there are “beach clubs and taverns, but in the summer they fill up,” and you can stay on the island technically, but there aren’t many places to, and the island “lacks infrastructure”. So if you are desperate for a beach club, try to get there super early or book stuff in advance.

Also, tour boats stop for a limited time only, so if you are really keen to explore for yourself, it’s best to rent your own boat. Plus, that way, you can also explore the “hidden coves”.

In the comments, others highlighted that it was “amazing,” and they “loved” it, saying that “Greek islands are the best”.

Someone asked: “Which is the most WOW? Paxos or Antipaxos for beaches and for children? Which is less touristy?” They replied: “Paxos is the one to stay at and then take trips to Antipaxos”.
