An “edge of your seat” thriller accompanied by a stark warning has finally secured a UK streaming date – and it’s arriving sooner than you might expect.
Having initially premiered in cinemas earlier this year, Send Help is a psychological horror thriller that viewers have cautioned against watching during mealtimes. Centring on survival, the film tracks two lone survivors doing everything in their power to remain alive.
A plane crash leaves one employee and her unbearable boss marooned on a deserted island as the sole survivors, forcing them to navigate their previous workplace tensions in order to make it home alive. Helmed by Sam Raimi (renowned for his work on Evil Dead and Spider-Man), it proved enormously popular with cinema audiences.
Now, Send Help has secured a UK streaming date, arriving on Disney Plus within days. Subscribers will be able to watch the film on the platform from May 7 , reports the Mirror.
An official synopsis reads: “A plane crash leaves two colleagues stranded on a deserted island. As the only survivors, Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien) must put past workplace issues behind them and work together to survive. Prepare for an unsettling and darkly humorous battle of wills and wits to stay alive.”

Since its UK release earlier this year, the film has continued to garner glowing reviews. Boasting a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, one viewer wrote: “This movie kept me on the edge of my seat, the ending was very surprising.”
Another said: “A surprisingly tense ride that keeps you engaged from start to finish. What really works here is the pacing, it builds pressure nicely without dragging, and there’s always something pulling you forward.”

A third added: “Send Help was a total riot in the best thriller sense – intense, chaotic, and impossible to look away from. It kept the tension cranked up the whole time and delivered exactly the kind of wild ride I wanted. 5 stars.”
However, one viewer cautioned: “This is not horror, this is over the top gore. Do not watch while you eat.”
Over on IMDb, one reviewer stated: “Send Help quickly establishes itself as one of the most compelling and engaging films of the year, especially for viewers who were already intrigued by its intense and mysterious trailer.”
Another echoed: “Absolutely disgusting-in the best way. Hard to watch at times, genuinely nasty, but clearly meant to push you there. I laughed, I cringed, and there were moments I literally couldn’t look at the screen.”
Commenting on a YouTube trailer, one fan said: “Watched it today, what a roller coaster of emotions! 10/10”, as another commented: “Just saw this movie in the theaters today. This movie is a masterpiece!”
Speaking previously about what inspired the film, director Sam Raimi said: “I’ve always loved stories where interesting, dynamic characters are pushed to extremes. In our story, the power shifts create an escalating situation that’s brimming with unexpected turns and suspense.”
Send Help can be streamed on Disney Plus from May 7.
