Arms can be an area some people prefer to cover, but in the summer months, when the weather gets warmer, balancing comfort with personal style can be tricky. However, Roman has some fantastic dresses right now that do the job well, with prices starting from just £32 – so they won’t break the bank.
I’ve picked a few of my favourites that I think are great for the coming season.
Each dress comes in two colours and sizes range from eight to 18 or 10 to 20.
First up is the Camel Dusk Animal Print Midi Dress for £45.
This midi dress features three-quarter-length puff sleeves and an all-over animal print. It is cut from a comfortable woven fabric, and Roman suggests styling it with a denim jacket and wedged heels. It also has a shirred bodice. But, if the leopard print feels a bit bold, there’s a black polka-dot version for shoppers who want an alternative colour.
There are currently no reviews for the dress on the Roman website.
A playful option is the Sage Green Polka Dot Pleated Shirt Midi Dress for £42. Polka dots are evrywhere at the moment, so this is a fun way to lean into the classic trend in a summer-ready colour.
This shirt dress features a classic shirt collar and short sleeves, and is cut from a woven fabric with a comfortable shape. There are front buttons, too, along with a self-tie belt to cinch in the waist for a flattering look.
If you don’t like the green, the dress also comes in white.
Floral prints are an easy go-to in the summer months, and this Black Floral Print Tie Waist Midi Dress, available for £32, stands out for its flattering cut and shape.
The dress is also available in royal blue (£36) if you prefer a pop of colour. It’s cut with a V-neckline, short sleeves and a tie waist. According to Roman, it’s crafted from a woven fabric with a delicate, all-over floral print.
The dress currently has a 4.5-star review on the Roman website from previous shoppers.
One said: “Looks really good on and very comfy to wear, and I feel really nice in it. It is also easy to wash and iron.”
A second said: “Good for the summer parties. Fitted perfectly but needs shortening.” While a third said: “Bought for the holidays, was easy and comfortable to wear.”
Others have taken to Trustpilot to leave their thoughts on the brand. One said: “Item arrived in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it was not what I had interpreted from the website, and so I returned the item. Nothing wrong with the item – just not what I expected.”
As an alternative, shoppers could grab this Ecru/Black Polka Dot Puff Sleeve Midi Dress from Next for £39. This comes in regular and petite fits and three other colours, along with sizes four to 26 – although some are currently out of stock.
Or at Debenhams, there’s this Urban Touch Floral Print Long Sleeve Dress for £58. This comes in two colours, sizes eight to 16, and it has long sleeves and a lightweight floral print material. It can also be machine washed for easy care.
