While many of us watch This Morning for the top headlines, real-life stories and playful dynamic between Dermot O’Leary and co-star Cat Deeley, our fashion team are always obsessed with the latter presenter’s wardrobe choices. Because she always looks stunning, and more so because she often wears high-street steals.
Naturally, we subsequently embark on a hunt for her outfit as soon as it’s spotted. Recently, Cat appeared on the hit morning show in a gorgeous blue dress that really complemented her blonde locks and made her glow. And the dress in question is from none other than British high-street favourite, Marks and Spencer.
The Lyocell Rich Floral Midi Dress from M&S isn’t too expensive either as it retails at £50 and can easily be dressed up or down, making it a versatile summer staple. Made from lightweight lyocell, it’s ideal for summer weddings thanks to its glamorous asymmetric shoulder cut and sheer overlay, which is both chic and timeless.
Coming in a charming periwinkle blue, this dress features an all-over ditsy floral print that is subtle enough not to overshadow its flattering cut and silhouette, but adds a hint of romance.
As for the cut of this dress, it’s designed to accentuate the curves with a ruched detail at the waist. Meanwhile, an off-the-shoulder neckline highlights the decolletage nicely, and it comes with slim spaghetti straps for extra support. Although it seems Cat chose to tuck them in for a seamless look.
Needless to say, we think this blue number would be the ultimate wedding guest dress for the UK or abroad. Bright, airy, and glamorous, it has a flattering, easy-to-wear fit, while the sheer mesh overlay adds a playful, breezy touch.
If this sheer detailing isn’t quite sealing the deal, Nobody’s Child has the Blue Floral Chiffon Logan Maxi Dress, now on sale for £52 from £130. With a frilly neckline and sleeves, its romantic style is similar to Cat’s design, while the maxi length and relaxed skirt ooze beachy charm. Additionally, the piece is decorated with a softly washed blue and green floral pattern.
For something that leans into the wedding guest category, Omnes’ Aurelia dress, £59.40 down from £99, is made from recycled polyester satin and comes in a beautiful powder blue. Oozing with ‘feminine details’, it has a curved tie-back and peek-a-boo lace under the bust that is mirrored in the straps. Worn with a lacey jacket, this would be perfect for any summer wedding.
That said, the blue Marks and Spencer dress is certainly a hit with not just fans of the British brand, but of the TV presenter too as, posting a photo to her Instagram wearing the frock, fans flocked to her comments to share their admiration.
One person wrote: “Sensational as always! I audibly gasped when I saw the blue dress the other day – absolutely gorgeous!”
Someone else noted: “Wow @catdeeley, love this and my mum was obsessed wanting it. You honestly are absolutely stunning.”
Another raved: “Blue dress absolutely stunning.” Despite being relatively new on the M&S website, Cat’s frock has received two glowing reviews from shoppers.
Giving the item a five-star rating, one person said: “Very flattering. Lovely dress – works for formal and casual occasions.”
Another review shared: “I bought this lovely ditsy dress when I saw it on Cat Deeley (on This Morning). It looked ideal for this heat wave we’re having.”
Although this shopper did share a slight drawback regarding sizing, so keep this in mind. They noted: “I ordered a size 10 and normally this is perfect for me. Unfortunately, the design came up a little small for my liking, in this hot weather, you don’t want clothes to cling to you (you need them a little loose).
“I ordered the next size up, 12… Haven’t worn it yet, but sure it will be ideal. Marks and Spencer is always good quality.”
