HMRC to send £112.80 payment to UK bank accounts on August 4 | Personal Finance | Finance

HMRC has revealed whether a Bank Holiday will impact benefits payments in August. Households in Scotland receiving the Scottish Child Payment have been reassured that the £112.80 payment will arrive on August 4 – one day late. Scottish Child Payment dates are based on when claimants originally applied for the benefit.

It’s important to be aware that there are no changes for parents in England or Wales. Payments due on August 3 or 4 will arrive a day later; payments due on Monday, August 3, will arrive on Tuesday, August 4, in Scotland only; and payments due Tuesday, August 4, will arrive on Wednesday, August 5, in Scotland only.

Scottish Child Payment is designed to provide additional financial support to lower-income households with children under the age of 16. The benefit is worth £28.20 per week for each eligible child.

The payment is issued every four weeks, meaning households receive £112.80 per child during each payment cycle.

There is no limit on the number of eligible children within a household, meaning larger families may receive substantially higher payments.

To qualify, claimants must live in Scotland and be responsible for at least one child under 16 while either they or their partner receives a qualifying benefit.

Some payments could be impacted by the bank holiday, reports the Daily Record.

DWP has not yet confirmed any changes to payment dates, but is expected to follow the same revised pattern as HMRC and Social Security Scotland.

Payments due to be made on Monday, August 31 will be issued on Friday, August 29.
