Marks & Spencer’s bestselling jeans have been hailed as “very comfortable” and “on trend” by satisfied shoppers. The high street retailer boasts an array of denim styles to suit every taste.
Their range spans everything from skinny jeans to wide-leg and bootcut designs. However, it is Marks & Spencer’s Mid Rise Barrel Jeans that have become the store’s second bestselling item. According to the retailer, more than 100 pairs have been snapped up in just five days.
Available in a range of colours, including washed black, grey, soft white, ecru, soft pink, medium indigo, indigo mix, light indigo and mid blue.
Marks & Spencer’s description reads: “These mid-rise jeans offer comfortable flexibility with a quality denim feel. The relaxed barrel-leg shape provides generous volume through the legs while maintaining a laid-back silhouette.
“Finished with practical five-pocket styling, seam detailing and a secure button and zip fastening at the waist. White colourway has frayed hem finish.”
The jeans are available in sizes six to 24, with leg length options including extra short, short/petite, regular and long. Made from 100% cotton, they feature a button and zip fastening.
Customers have left positive reviews, with one shopper commenting: “I bought these in pink. They are lovely, soft fabric and a great barrel shape. Recommend.”
Another enthusiastic buyer added: “These are the best barrel jeans I have tried, absolutely love them! So much so that I have them in every colour now! Highly recommend!”
Someone else commented: “Excellence shape . Best barrel jeans on the market.” A fourth wrote: “Gorgeous jeans, great fit and quality for the price point. Also feel really cool.”
However, a number of shoppers noted that the jeans were closer to high rise than mid rise.
One customer said: “Great shape and colour (dark indigo), but lost a star as these are not mid rise in my opinion, more like high rise. A shame as I find high rise not such a good fit on my athletic frame. True to size, I bought a 10 regular and am 5’4.”
Another added: “Good barrel leg jeans, personally I would have liked them a smidge shorter and lower on waist, it says mid rise but they are still quite high waisted.”
Others felt the jeans were simply too wide in the leg for their taste. One shopper explained: “Unfortunately I found them a bit too wide to work with my shape, so returned.”
Marks and Spencer is not the only high street retailer stocking barrel jeans. Asos carries the Topshop Barrel Mid Rise Jean in a broad selection of colours for £50.
Several styles are currently reduced, with the indigo rinse down to £25 and the washed beige available at £42.50. Meanwhile, TU at Sainsbury’s offers Denim Relaxed Barrel Leg Jeans for £25 in sizes six to 20.
